Patient Responsibilities
- To provide complete personal information, whenever required.
- To provide accurate and complete information about your illness, history, and medications.
- To obtain and adhere to appointments.
- To follow the treatment plan recommended by your doctor.
- To participate in your pain management and inform its effectiveness to doctors/nurses.
- Certain test like color vision, audiometry and spirometry can be added for certain special group category (special risk group). Example: like pilots and ship captain needs color vision and audiometry. Audiometry is needed for those who will work in noise.
- To take care of your valuables and personal belongings.
- To treat other patients, visitors and all center staff with courtesy and respect and abide by the safety rules and regulations.
- To understand all instructions before signing the consent forms.
- To provide accurate and complete information about your health insurance scheme/coverage and to pay your bills in a timely manner.
- To adhere to the no-smoking policy.
Patient Rights
- To receive information about your medical diagnosis, investigations, treatment plan, risks, benefits and likely outcome of any treatment or procedure.
- To choose a particular healthcare provider for treatment. You also have the right to know the name and specialty of any doctor or any other person who is caring for you.
- To receive screening and stabilization in case of severe pain, injury, or sudden illness without prior authorization.
- To receive care that is considerate and respectful. You can also express your spiritual and cultural beliefs provided they do not interfere in others’ privacy and center operations.
- To protect your privacy and maintain your dignity during the treatment.
- To have your healthcare information treated with confidentiality. Information concerning one’s health and treatment may only be disclosed with informed consent except when required in terms of any law or an order of the court.
- To have a fair, fast and objective review of any complaint you have against your doctor, a healthcare personnel/member of staff or the center.
- To be protected from physical, verbal or psychological assault.
- Participate in your Treatment Plan details including Care Decisions & Process.
